How to Get Faster & More Reliable Wifi
“Long gone are the days of large routers and added extenders, today’s WiFi is broadcast through mesh WiFi systems.”
Remember the old way of doing things?
Big routers, extenders, and problems, oh my!
Before mesh wifi systems became the standard of today’s WiFi networks, we all used to have routers in our houses that did everything. Sometimes these routers weren’t big enough to cover our homes, so the standard go-to solution was to use WiFi extenders. With a combination of a large router and WiFi extenders, even the largest houses could get WiFi everywhere. This type of setup only worked because there was no other solution, until today!

New mesh wifi technology
Cover your whole home with mesh!
Houses come in all different shapes and sizes. Shouldn’t your WiFi too? eero’s mesh technology uses multiple different wifi devices to blanket your entire home with super fast WiFi coverage. With the right system for your home, you can work, stream, game, and chat—without ever missing a beat.
Mesh WiFi systems generally come in a 3-pack, consisting of 1 router device and 2 satellite devices. These devices are spread out throughout a house to create multiple overlapping WiFi zones that mesh together as one.
Mesh WiFi systems are ideal for large homes over 2,000 Sqft, but they also keep WiFi signals strong and fast in smaller homes as well. It’s true, faster is better!
Three WiFi devices out of the box
Most Eero systems and other mesh WiFi systems come with 3 devices in the package. This includes 1 router device and 2 satellite WiFi devices. This size of system usually starts at a minimum coverage of 5,000 Sqft. You can also add more satellite WiFi devices to your system to increase the coverage area.
With the average home size being 2,000 Sqft, even the most basic mesh WiFi systems drastically improve coverage and speeds!

TV Antennas Plus Streaming Options
Connecting Your Antenna to Work Alongside a Streaming Device Like a Smart TV or Firestick is Simple
To connect a streaming device to your TV, follow the media player’s setup instructions. Examples of streaming devices would be a Firestick or Roku. You will connect the streaming device using an HDMI cable to connect to your TV. An antenna is connected to your TV using a coaxial cable, which is a different connection than a streaming device. If you own an old analog TV, you will need a set-top converter box and then you will connect the antenna’s coaxial cable to the converter box.
You do not need the internet to watch TV with an antenna.
If you want to stream movies and other content from services like Netflix, Amazon Prime, or Hulu, you will need an internet connection. Most service providers recommend a download speed of at least 5 Mbps to stream in high-definition, but we recommend a minimum of 25 Mbps. This is even more important if you are streaming on more than one device at a time, for example, if you are watching something on YouTube while someone else is watching Netflix on a different device. For more information on internet and streaming, contact your service provider.

Which streaming media device and service is right for me?
Selecting a streaming device and service can seem overwhelming with all the new options popping up all the time.
Your entertainment preferences are as unique as you are. Find a balance between a variety in programming and the monthly cost. Many of the streaming services available are growing rapidly, and they change their program lineup each month. If you can’t find your TV show or movie, don’t panic! Streaming platforms have an extensive array of content for you to watch and renting a movie sometimes can save you a few extra dollars vs paying a monthly fee for content you only watch once.
